Top 10 highest paying government jobs in India 2022

India – Every year, tens of thousands of Indians sit for UPSC and other government competitive exams in the hopes of becoming among the select few who land some of the country’s highest-paying professions. Some students study for years in order to pass these official tests.

These are India’s highest paying government jobs, so it’s no surprise that they’re the first choice of newly graduated students, whether permanent or contract-based.

1. IAS Officer

The privileges of becoming an IAS officer, one of the most sought-after occupations among teenagers and an A-Grade government position, include free accommodation, free energy, among many other perks, as well as security guard(s), a car, and possibilities to go abroad, among others.

Basic salary: Rs 56,100 per month.

Eligibility: Must be a graduate.

Examination: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam.

2. ISRO Scientist

What an amazing job it would be to be a space scientist. It does, however, come with the same fantastic benefits, such as not having to pay rent and not having to pay for your children’s education.

Basic salary: Rs. 60,000 per month.

Eligibility: Must have an Engineering degree (above 60%).

Examination: ISRO exam.

3. Flying Officer in Defense Services

This is an excellent job opportunity for those who like to take risks. It comes with a good salary, a pension after retirement, free rations, and a slew of additional perks.

Basic salary: Rs. 60000 per month.

Eligibility: Must be a college graduate.

Examination: AFCAT.

4. Government Doctor

Why not become a government doctor if you desire a government career in the medical field? After retirement, you will receive a pension, attractive compensation, maternity and paternity leaves, paid time off when needed, and vacation time, among other advantages.

Basic average salary: Rs. 91,930 per month.

Eligibility: 12th pass in Science stream (60% and above).

Examination: Medical UPSC.

7. Bank PO (Probationary Officer)

The competition to become a Bank PO, one of the highest entry-level designations in the banking sector, attracts lakhs of individuals each year. The benefits alone are enough to persuade job seekers to choose this field, from medical to rent to miscellaneous travel.

As a Bank PO, you’ll be in charge of supervising employees, managing cash flow, and dealing with client complaints and inquiries, among other things.

Examination: PO exams such as SBI PO and IBPS PO examinations.

8. Indian Foreign Services

IFS is the next highest-paying government job in India on our list. For the majority of us, being able to live comfortably in another country is a dream. As an IFS officer, you will have the opportunity to live outside of India and benefit from a variety of privileges and perks, including free medical care, free education for your children, and lodgings that include a luxury automobile and a housemaid.

If you’re lucky enough to be stationed in the United States or the United Arab Emirates, your monthly compensation under Special Foreign Allowances might be as high as Rs. 2.4 lakhs.

Basic average salary: Rs. 60,000 per month.

Eligibility: Must be a graduate.

Examination: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam.

9. RBI Grade B officer

Not only does it come with a good pay, but it also comes with fantastic amenities like a well-furnished flat, fuel allowance, medical allowance, and a Rs. 1 lakh allowance for vacations every two years, to name a few. One of the highest-paid government occupations in India is that of an RBI grade B officer.

Basic salary: Ranges between Rs. 35,150 to Rs. 62,400 per month.

Eligibility: Must be a graduate.

Examination: RBI Grade B exam.

10. Assistant Section Officer in Ministry of External Affairs

ASO is a Group’ B’ position with good compensation, travel benefits, and housing allowances (amount per the city where you are posted). Furthermore, because you will be accompanying an IFS Officer, you will have the opportunity to travel and reside in another country.

Basic salary: Rs. 66,000 per month.

Eligibility: Must be a graduate.

Examination: SSC CGL Exam.
