Last updated on July 21st, 2022 at 06:13 am

The professionals across sectors are desperate for a “time-out” as the remote working model has further hazed out the thin line between work and personal life. The professionals are struggling with consequences of blurred work life balance, including burnout, Zoom fatigue, mental health issues and increased stress.

The experts underline that these issues can pose a big hurdle in path of productivity, successful career and a sense of ‘meaningful’ life. Let us have a look at the top 10 signs which might indicate that it is time for you to switch to work life balance mode.

Feeling irritated – “all the time”

Are you the one who is feeling annoyed and irritated at slightest of issues. If you find yourself fighting with that feeling, it definitely means you need more balance in your work and personal life. So, what can you do to handle that extra stress and workload that’s triggering all the annoyance? Take a day off, or may be two, or go for a small trip to relax. And don’t forget to keep all the electronic devices aside.

Having pessimistic thoughts

One of the top signs of troubled work life balance is having frequent pessimistic thoughts – and not just professional, but also personal. The best way to tackle this is meditation, and work out a plan while holding a positive dialogue with your inner self.

Fighting for some “me time”

If you find yourself struggling to find some free “me time” then the best way is to make a routine of work day and stick to the working hours. Working even one hour less per day can bring some extra personal time for yourself.

Feeling scattered

During meetings if you feel hard to focus and are feeling scattered with lack of creativity, it’s a clear sign you need a break. Take a break – go for coffee, a simple walk or catch up with an old friend. Activities that can rejuvenate you can prove to be helpful.

Overwhelmed feeling

Generally feeling overwhelmed is a clear sign that you need a better work life balance. Taking some time out for relaxing can give your brain some relaxation.

Finding simple tasks tricky

Even if a simple task makes you struggle, it is time to take a step back and rewind your day. Your brain needs some break. Stop skipping lunch and coffee breaks and cut yourself some slack. Set some boundaries and abide by them.

Lack of enthusiasm

Sometimes even the best of projects and tasks can find you lacking enthusiasm. You might stress out while getting lost in the details and feel distant from the real objective of the task in the first place. Take a step back, re-assess the task, take a break and get on to the job with rejuvenated mind.

Working all the time, even after the official work hours

Working even at home after the working hours is a clear sign of lack of work life balance. Organize your day, set clear boundaries and work life balance would be an easy feat for you.

Always talking about work

Talking about work even when not at work? It’s not a sign of dedicated worker but one who lacks work life balance. Take time off, go for a vacation and also take breaks throughout the day.

Feeling constantly tired

Fatigue is a common sign among any professionals. They are working like a machine, tiredness is obvious. Following the same routine is the root cause of this, so the best way to crack it is to unfollow the routine and engage in some new activity. But most important is to get rest and sleep.
