Indian govt’s GKRA provide jobs to 50.78 crore Migrant workers

India – The Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan (GKRA) was introduced on June 20, 2020, and it will run for 125 days. Its goal is to increase the job and income prospects for migrant workers returning to their home villages and other similarly impacted rural residents. With a total of Rs. 39,293 crores spent during the Abhiyaan, the GKRA came to a conclusion on October 22, 2020, and 50.78 crore person-days of employment were created.

Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan has included training that has been delivered by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK). 68,136 candidates received training across 1,922 different training sessions.

The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (Mahatma Gandhi NREGS) employees will have their skill sets upgraded as part of Project “UNNATI”, which the Indian government launched in December 2019. This will improve their livelihoods and enable them to transition from their current partial employment to full employment.
