TCS to hire 40,000 freshers; Who is eligible?

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), an Indian multinational information technology services and consulting company, is set to hire approximately 40,000 freshers. N Ganapathy Subramaniam, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of TCS, has confirmed the company’s commitment to recruiting freshers.

Tata Consultancy Services Limited, which operates in 150 locations across 46 countries, will hire a significant number of campus recruits in the current fiscal year.

Tata Consultancy Services Limited, a part of the Tata Group with over 600,000 employees worldwide, hires between 35,000 and 40,000 new employees in a fiscal year.

This year, TCS will conduct fresher hiring. TCS will hire 40,000 new employees for various departments. N Ganapathy Subramaniam has said, “When there is a contraction in discretionary spending, we hire a lesser number of laterals. In the last 12 to 14 months, we saw a huge attrition. We didn’t know how long that would continue, so we ended up hiring a lot more than what we needed to build a bench.”

N Ganapathy Subramaniam also said that the company has not planned large-scale layoffs. TCS will not fire employees in the coming months.

Who is eligible for the job at TCS?

New graduates are eligible for the job at TCS. Only those candidates that have graduated from full-time courses from good colleges are eligible for the job.

A candidate must be at least 18 years old. If a person has a gap in education or employment, they may not be eligible for the job at TCS.

TCS usually conducts an NQT exam to hire freshers. The company usually hires a large number of candidates through its Off-Campus drive and walk-in drive at all offices.

Any Graduate (B.E., B.Tech, BCA, B.Com, B.Sc, BA etc.) or Postgraduate (M.E., M.Tech, MCA, MBA, M.Sc, MA, M.Com etc) can take the TCS National Qualifier Test (NQT) exam to get a job at TCS.

HCL Tech is also set to hire 5,000 workers. In the financial year 2022-23, HCL Technologies hired around 2,7000 employees. By March 2024, 5,000 workers will be hired by HCL Tech.
