Pakistani embassy has shut down its consular service owing to the uncontrollable situation of Covid-19 outbreak in the country as well as the facility. The senior officials have decided to keep the embassy closed for a week to monitor the situation.
Pakistan will be closing down the section that guarantees flow of visas in the country from June 13 to June 17, 2021. If the official feels it is safe to open the facility, they will take the call on Thursday itself after the situation has properly been monitored.
On Sunday, the Pakistan Embassy in Kabul gave an official statement saying, “Due to the deteriorating situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, the consular section of the Embassy of Pakistan in Kabul will remain closed for one week from 13 June to 17 June 2021.”
It is a huge decision for the embassy to take, especially after the US diplomatic mission in Kabul had announced on Saturday that visa operations in its consular service will be cancelled due to the rise of Covid-19 infections.
The US embassy had also stated that it will be suspending its visa services from June 13 owing to covid-19 protocols. It also added that for those who have already scheduled the appointments will be able to reschedule once the visa operations begin. Things got serious when the country’s administration warned citizens of the rising number of infections and asked to take proper care during these times.
