2. Local Government: 52,000 Jobs, Highest Jump Since Mid-2024

On the local government side, employment rose 52,000 jobs, the joint strongest increase in employment since mid-2024. From city halls to public works to municipal offices, across the country, the number of employees at public service agencies is growing to better address the demand for services.

- City and county administrations.
- Public works departments and infrastructure departments.
- Municipal services
Roles in demand:
- Administrative assistants
- Municipal clerks
- Public service coordinators

3. Healthcare: 47,000 Jobs and Still Climbing
Healthcare is more than just growing; it’s been steadily increasing, and this month is no exception.
In the latest U.S. jobs report, the sector created 47,000 jobs, making it the best performer in terms of workforce demand in today’s economy. There are a number of jobs available in hospitals, ambulatory care clinics and social assistance services.
Who’s hiring:
- Healthcare providers, hospitals and health systems
- Ambulatory care or outpatient care.
- Individual and family services organisations are the patrons or groups involved in providing services to individuals and families.
Roles in demand:
- Nurse Practitioners
- Medical and Health Services Managers
- Home Health Aides
Healthcare roles will remain hot well beyond 2026 as an older demographic and increasing need for mental health services puts a strain on the healthcare sector. This is a permanent change in the employment landscape of the United States, not just a temporary blip.
