Coronavirus pandemic has left mothers to find solutions to provide education and child care for their children as all schools are closed down.

The current pandemic situation has been hard-hitting for everyone and every age group. But the working mothers have had to feel the brunt most of all. Every working mother is wondering if the next mom is feeling the stress of elusive work-life balance in similar way. The time when women were chasing their dreams and professional goals is now being spent jugging between kids and work commitments. The kids who were earlier in school are now at home and need complete attention. Mothers are needed everywhere and at this time when every aspect is overlapping each other it gets very difficult for working mothers to balance their personal and work life while feeling no mother’s guilt.

The working women are disproportionately taking care of housework, children while meeting the work commitments and deadlines. Guilt is obvious to permeate with kids getting more screen time and mothers feeling the stress of that while themselves getting Zoom fatigue.

There are some practical and easy strategies to a better balanced and guilt-free day.

Forgive yourself and take it easy

Letting go is an art which must be imbibed by all working mothers. Stop beating yourself up for the choices you make or circumstances you are in. Once the guilt is gone the moving forward is the next step to balance the life more efficiently.

Revisit your priorities and values

Values and priorities in life must be revisited to help live a quality life based on them. Living by set values is the road towards no guilt and balanced life. Make clear boundaries that suit your life and priorities

Don’t shy away from asking for help

It is very common to see working women channel their all stress into doing everything by themselves. They don’t find it easy to ask for help. But reaching out for help will help you take control of things in a better way and help in balancing work and personal life much efficiently. Help can be asked form own parents, partner, friends, for instance. A support system is essential to balance and nurture every part of life.

Working mothers are in a difficult situation currently due to pandemic. Feeling lost, guilty and out of control is common and natural. But some tweaks and changes can ease things out and help balance things with no guilt trip.
