Canada will increase the minimum cost of living requirement for international students from 10,000 Canadian dollars to 20,635 Canadian dollars from 1 January 2024. As the world grapples with evolving challenges and changing dynamics, Canada announced its plan to raise the cost-of-living financial requirement for international students applying for a study permit. The immigration changes can be difficult for international students. 

The new rule will apply to international students on or after 1 January 2024. This is the first time in ten years that Canada has raised the threshold for international students.
