Sara Sharif murder: Father and stepmother jailed for life for brutal crime

The father and stepmother of Sara Sharif, a 10-year-old girl at the time of her death in 2023, have been jailed for life for her murder. During a “campaign of torture” that lasted at least a couple of years, the young girl is hooded, burned and beaten.

Police found Sara’s body in Surrey last year. Her father, Urfan Sharif, has been sentenced to a minimum of 40 years in prison, and her stepmother Beinash Batool got a minimum of 33 years. Uncle Faisal Malik has been sentenced to 16 years imprisonment.

Sara Sharif murder: Father “legally published” daughter?

The judge said Batool encouraged Sharif in his assaults. He described the degree of cruelty part of the crime as almost inconceivable. Paying tribute to her daughter, Sara’s mother Olga Domin said: “She is no longer experiencing violence.”

Just a day before Sara’s body is found, Sharif, Batool and Malik fled to Islamabad in Pakistan, accompanied by the victim’s five siblings. From Pakistan, Sharif called the police in England and told the operator that he “legally published” his daughter and she died.
