HANOI (Xinhua): A US report on human rights were disregarded by Vietnam because it contained false information. On Thursday, the Vietnamese government responded to a new U.S. report on human rights by labeling its assertions “inaccurate” and stating that it is willing to talk about them.
The ministry of foreign affairs of Vietnam expressed the views of Vietnam at a press conference on Thursday, 23 March.
In the city of Hanoi on March 23, 2023, that is Thursday a press briefing was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In that regular press release deputy spokeswoman Pham Thu Hang presented the matter of the Human Right report of the US.

Deputy Spokesperson Thu Hang Reaffirmed that Vietnam continues to work on policies to protect and promote human rights in the country. The report is false.
Vietnam has been mentioned in the 2022 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices released by the US State Department on Monday.
“Fundamental human rights and freedoms are recognized in the Constitution of Vietnam, protected and promoted by concrete legal documents and implemented in reality,” deputy spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang said in her statement.
Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pham Thu Hang, further stated that the country’s development and reforms are driven by its people.
Pham Thu Hang said that “Vietnam has made great efforts to improve the people’s lives and rights to enjoy life with no one left behind”
Pham Thu Hang emphasized that Vietnam is still willing to have “constructive discussions with the US on issues where the two countries have different views to increase mutual understanding and contribute to the development of the bilateral comprehensive partnership.”
Recall that in October of 2022, Vietnam was elected to the U.N. Human Rights Council for the term 2023–2025.
