Understanding micro-retirement, the latest corporate trend among Millennials and Gen Z employees

Boomers and Gen X employees across the globe are actually approaching the age to actually retire. But numerous stressed-out Millenials and Gen Z employees are also finding it hard to continue the daily corporate trend and are taking little breaks.

These ‘micro-retirement’ breaks are in the limelight as polls suggest Gen Z employees are often the most underpaid in the office and the most stressed-out generation. Millennials, on the other hand, are mostly middle managers, experiencing serious burnout.

Micro-retirement is defined as a break an employee takes from his career for a couple of months or some years. It could mean going on a vacation, pursuing a hobby, or launching a side business. It is all about contributing to personal passions.

Millions of employees across the globe are struggling to address stress. This trend specifically started as the pandemic hit. Entering offices again after navigating closures, remote jobs anUnderstanding micro-retirement, the latest corporate trend among Millennials and Gen Z employeesd flexible jobs has made Gen Z employees unhappy.
