1 out of every 21 Tesla workers suffered injuries

According to The Information, some gruesome incidents took place at the Gigafactory in Austin, Texas. One out of every 21 workers reportedly suffered workplace injuries in 2022. The data was derived from Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), a regulatory agency of the United States Department of Labor.

In 2021, an engineer suffered robot injuries at the workplace. He approached a shutdown robot arm but got pinned to the wall by the machine. He bled from his back and arms. In 2022, a worker’s ankle got caught under a cart and he suffered intense injuries. Later on, another worker suffered a head injury.

Many workers at Tesla in Texas suffered due to crushed limbs, amputations, electrocutions, head injuries and eye wounds.

Earlier this year, a worker became unconscious after getting launched back from an explosion in the metal casting area. The explosion at the workplace sent a ball of fire and smoke into the air.

In June, another worker got injured due to a lack of protective equipment at the workplace. Some workers also suffered fractures and a punctured lung.

Tesla’s Fremont factory in California also has a long history with workplace injuries. Last month, the Tesla workers’ strike in Sweden also came into the limelight. Tesla workers in Sweden said that they had “lower wages.” The workers also complained that they do not have the same insurance like other industry workers in Sweden.
