To solve its workforce survey problems, ONS provides £8 million to contract temporary staff through employment service Randstad. The government statistics agency puts funds into enhancing its employment data quality because economists consider current data impossible to use properly.

Randstad will hire 148 field interviewers to work alongside the ONS staff as part of their new contract. Temporary interviewers from Randstad are going to call at homes so that better responses can be gotten in the surveys. The Office for National Statistics requires more time until 2027 to work on its lowering survey response rate.

The worker problems of the company become conspicuous as unions tell management’s wrongdoings, and staff turnaround remains high although workers remain displeased. Governments and the Bank of England heavily depend on the labour force survey for upcoming rate changes especially at their decision date of February 6th.
