Counsellor Jaber Al Marri, from the State of Qatar, has been re-elected as the chairman of the Arab Human Rights Committee for a second two-year term, with Counsellor Abdulrahman bin Mar’ai Al Shabraqi, from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, elected as its deputy chairman.

The announcements were made yesterday during the 59th meeting of the Arab Human Rights Committee held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League. The meeting saw all members of the committee assemble to elect a chairman and his deputy.

Counsellor Jaber Al Marri worked as deputy chairman of the committee from April 8, 2017 to April 7, 2019. Later on April 26, 2021, he was elected chairman of the committee for a first two-year term.
