Work and Wellness – the new trend in quest of work-life balance

Work from home as a consequence of Covid-19 pandemic is constantly adding to the stress, burnout and anxiety among people as they struggle to strike a balance between their professional and personal lives. This, according to wellness experts, can lead to many professionals taking a break or sabbatical from their normal routines and head out to rejuvenate their mind and body. The wellness sabbatical is a great way to allow a healthy connection sense. The other way can be taking a break of work and wellness – something in line with current work from home trend.

Covid-19 has brought ages old offerings of nature like Ayurveda and Yoga to the centerstage as people have become more aware of health and wellness as a whole with focus on self-care. “Health and wellbeing are top priorities, and a surge in travelers looking for wellness-based activities that can be practiced in daily life is evident. In the coming months, we expect a surge in domestic travelers who are in pursuit of wellness. We believe that more people will now look for wellness offerings like Ayurveda, Yoga and Sowa Rigpa (Tibetan medicine). People wish to spend quality time at secluded retreats where wellness offerings manifest in their true, authentic nature,” says Prasoon Pandey, General Manager, Vana Wellness Retreat in Dehradun, India.

The increased need to unwind oneself has surged in recent times as people are stuck at home working, with no movements. The long working hours have become the new normal with overlapping of professional and personal lives. People are looking for places to recluse themselves from the everyday life and relax amid nature and unwind.

Since Covid-19, many people have taken to online workshops and meetings, lives and more. Also, WFH professionals are spending way too many hours in front on the screen. Consistent stress due to the use of gadgets is causing sleep problems and fatigue syndrome. Hence, a wellness sanctuary works as a space for nature immersion and healing

People who cannot afford to disconnect from work, work and wellness trips are the best options offering balance between the two parts of life. Many wellness resorts are offering a perfect amalgamation of natural therapies like yoga, Ayurveda with required amenities to stay connected to work. This is a worth exploring opportunity for those in quest of balancing their work and personal life and also work on complete wellness.
