This is the end of visa-free friction-less travel to the business travelers of the EU and the US, alongside rising discussions around the Cost of the UK’s New “B2 English” requirements. The Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is no longer optional. This electronic visa has become a compulsory pre-screening device to every non-visa national, such as the European Union and the United States.

The managers of corporate travel should observe that the days of the pay on arrival or stamp on arrival are over.
- EU Citizens: Your national ID card does not suffice, you have to carry the passport associated with your ETA.
- US Citizens: Although you are used to ESTA in other territories, the UK one is different and should be obtained prior to traveling.

- Caution: It takes process time of at least 3 working days. Do not leave out until the airport check-in desk.
FAQs
Q: Can I attend business meetings with an ETA?
Yes. The ETA extends inventory business travel such as conferences, meetings and training up to 6 months. It does not permit paid work.
Q: How long is the UK ETA valid?
Two years, or until your passport is lost or cancelled, whichever occurs first. It permits numerous entries.
Q: Do dual British citizens need an ETA?
No, you cannot now use your non-UK passport anymore. You will have to provide a valid British passport, or a Certificate of Entitlement to board.
Q: Is the ETA refundable if rejected?
