Pakistan to act against human traffickers as 4 Pakistanis confirmed dead in Greece boat tragedy
Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) has confirmed the death of four Pakistanis in a major boat capsizing incident south of the Greek island of Crete on Saturday. The Embassy of Pakistan in Greece officials are in Crete to meet the rescued migrants and offer help.
Families of the missing Pakistanis can contact Embassy officials to share details on this number: +30-6943850188. On December 14, the foreign media reported that a boat carrying migrants capsized, killing at least 5 of them.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken a serious note of the incident in Greece. He has directed the country’s Interior Ministry to identify the mafia of human traffickers operating in the country, as per media reports.
Human trafficking is a tragic crime that claims numerous people and causes families to suffer each year, PM Sharif stressed. These traffickers target the poor and struggling people to manipulate them into using illegal routes to get out of the country.
