15th Package of Restrictive Measures has been Adopted by EU against Russia

On Monday, the EU unveiled an initiative method which is the 15th package of restrictive initiative which is aimed at curbing the ability of Russia’s armed forces and industrial abilities. These impactful actions were due to the injustice and illegal war against Ukraine and the Ukrainian people by Russia. The listing focuses significantly on targeting the shadow fleet of Putin by weakening their military and industrial power. 

The vice President of the European Commission stated that,

“Russia continues its brutal attack against Ukraine and Ukrainian people. This package of sanctions are part of our response to weaken Russia’s war machine and those who are enabling this war, including Chinese companies. It shows the unity of EU member states in our continued support to Ukraine. Our immediate priority is to put Ukraine in the strongest possible position. We will stand by the Ukrainian people on all fronts: humanitarian, economic, political, diplomatic and military. There can be no doubt that Ukraine will win”. 

In the European Council Conclusions, they have ensured their support and unwavering commitment for Ukraine in political, financial, economic, humanitarian, military and diplomatic sectors. In the 15th package it had listings of 54 individuals and 30 legal entities who are responsible for intimidating or undermining the sovereignty, territorial integrity and the independence of Ukraine. 

Individual Listings

  • The military unit who striked Okhmadyt Children Hospital in Kyiv
  • Senior Managers in the energy sector of the leading companies
  • Children Deportation
  • Propaganda
  • Circumvention
  • Two Senior DPRK officials

Entities Listings

  • Russian Defence and Shipping companies
  • Those companies who transported crude oil and oil products by sea has provided revenues to the Russian government
  • A Chemical Plant
  • The logistical support to military which was provided by a civil Russian airline

Additionally , the EU has sanctioned a travel ban, asset free, prohibition to make economic resources available to the Chinese actors who had supplied the drone components during the war against Ukraine to Russia. All this detailed information has been released in the press release of the EU on Monday which underpins its measures and the bloc’s commitment to Ukraine against Russia’s war efforts.
