A project that is quietly weaving together stories of hope, despair, and resilience can be found in the center of a small town, tucked away from the bustling city lights. The Los Desconocidos quilt is more than just a piece of fabric; it is an embodiment of the indomitable spirit of humanity.

The German American Heritage Centre is hosting a traveling art exhibit that is drawing attention to migrants who are located close to the southern border of the United States.

The name of the exhibition is “Los Desconocidos: the Migrant Quilt Project.” It is a collection of five quilts that includes the names of migrants who have passed away, as well as textiles discovered along the border. In addition, the purpose of the exhibit is to generate support for changes in border policies that are more humane.
