A project that is quietly weaving together stories of hope, despair, and resilience can be found in the center of a small town, tucked away from the bustling city lights. The Los Desconocidos quilt is more than just a piece of fabric; it is an embodiment of the indomitable spirit of humanity.

The German American Heritage Centre is hosting a traveling art exhibit that is drawing attention to migrants who are located close to the southern border of the United States.

The name of the exhibition is “Los Desconocidos: the Migrant Quilt Project.” It is a collection of five quilts that includes the names of migrants who have passed away, as well as textiles discovered along the border.
