A Registry of Controlled Persons Launched in Russia by MIA
Many nations around the world are taking gripping initiatives to constrain the entry of illegal immigrants and to eradicate the illegal residents from the country which is a part of concern over the internal security. On Feb 5, 2025 the Ministry of Internal Affairs launched the “Register of Controlled Persons” which aims to monitor and identify the illegal residents within the country. It also aims to regulate such individuals and enforce compliance with Russian immigration laws.
As per the given statement by the MIA during the press release enforces that the following actions will be prohibited for the migrants who are included in the register,
‘The medical examination has been prepared to examine the foreign citizens who are entering Russia’ , said State Duma Speaker, Vyacheslav Volodin. He added that the people who are arriving from the EAEU countries under an employment contract are already undergoing the mandatory medical examination.
“Migrants, of course, are not aware of this, because migrants should be informed about this before entering Russia, I think. In practice, we already feel that those who left are not going to come here any faster. They want to wait to see what happens with these laws that were introduced” said Abdygan Shakirov, a representative of Kyrgyz Diaspora in Moscow.
