23 myanmar immigrants & chinese foreman were detained for working illegally
A Chinese man who entered the country on a tourist visa but was discovered working as a foreman on a construction site was detained by immigration officers in the province of Samut Prakan.
23 Myanmar Immigrants workers were also detained with him.
According to news releases the arrests happened at a construction site close to the bridge over Khlong Pad in Moo 12, Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province.
On April 27, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., the operation was carried out in response to the discovery of information suggesting the presence of illegal foreign workers. The investigation team visited the construction camp in Village No. 12 of Bang Phli District under the direction of Pol. Col. Chinnawut Tangwonglert, Superintendent of Immigration in Samut Prakan.
The Chinese man was charged with working as an alien without authorization after an inspection. The 23 citizens of Myanmar were accused of working without a permit, residing in the kingdom without authorization, and having permits that had either expired or been revoked.
Both the Chinese man and the workers from Myanmar were taken into custody and delivered to the Bang Phli Police Station’s investigators for possible legal action and deportation.
The immigration office in Samut Prakan is still vigilant in its search for and capture of illegal workers and those who hire them.
