On Tuesday a shocking announcement came from the United States. Employees of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) were told that they had just 15 minutes to collect their belongings from their offices.
Many staff members get the notice via text because their email access has already been deactivated. The USAID website currently contains no other updates. As the Trump administration announced the downsizing of the agency so they are reducing thousands of workers on administrative leave. On Tuesday employees received a text message stating they must bring their own boxes and bags, as no packing materials would be provided. Security screenings were also required before entering the building.

On Sunday the Trump administration announced that they are going to fire 1,600 USAID employees. Around 4,200 others were placed on administrative leave.
This decision came after a judge refused to stop the government from making changes to USAID. The various program like food aid and other efforts to control migration are facing problems.
So now with the recent big move by the Trump administration, many critics are saying that it will badly impact on the U.S. influence in other countries. But the Trump administration is calling it a move to save money and refocus foreign aid. But overall these jobcuts and steps by the US government will impact the funding and aid supply.
