Trump Adviser Musk’s Federal Worker Email Sparks Agency Pushback

The administration has instructed its workers to disregard an emailed directive from Elon Musk that demands weekly work updates or employees will be fired. The email from Office of Personnel Management received pushback from several government departments including FBI and State Department which directed their workers to confine their responses to their own department hierarchy.

The FBI Director sent his team an email to defend their review power which reveals increasing conflict between Trump administration officers and Elon Musk who leads the new Department of Government Efficiency. 20,000 federal department employees entered office while another 75,000 from Defense Department and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau received offer letters.

American Federation of Government Employees opposes Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk from letting employees go through email silence and also files paperwork for the removal of his federal authority. Republican Senator John Curtis from Utah asked Musk to be more considerate in managing budget cuts although he supported budget reductions.

The former Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie described the email demand as an illegal type of intervention that would get challenged through the courts and this situation amounted to “a crazy car of problems.” The decision creates controversy at a time when the federal government manages $36 trillion in debt yet even Republican-leaning people oppose Musk’s strong strategy.
