Property crime

Property crime is very common in the United States. Property crime consists of theft and destruction of properties. Property crimes outnumbered violent crimes in the US in 2020. Reportedly, 48,118 total property crimes were projected for FY 2019-2020. Usually, no people are physically hurt during the crime.

Theft and Larceny

Theft and larceny are quite common in the US. It happens to 1,549.5 out of every 100,000 people in the US. Theft and larceny include stealing from a store, stealing an item from another person, stealing from a house or pick-pocketing.

Burglary

Burglary means trespassing on private property or intending to steal. This crime can occur on any private property. Over half of homes in the U.S. are victims of burglary.
