Shocking! Google employee loses job weeks after giving birth to baby

In a shocking incident, a Google employee lost her job 10 weeks after giving birth to her child. She had been a Google employee for more than 12 years, serving the company with her skill. Her lay off has shocked the tech industry. 

Talking about her plight, she said, “I unfortunately was impacted while on maternity leave by the Google recruiting layoffs.” Currently, she is unable to find a new job. 

Google firing pregnant women

Various women workers have shared their stories of being laid off during their maternity leaves. Earlier this summer, some Google employees were laid off from the company. In March, laid off Google employees sent a letter to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, demanding a better handling of women workers on maternity leaves and sick leaves.

However, Google continued firing employees on leaves. Women taking maternity leaves were mainly affected by the layoffs.

A female worker lost her job after giving birth

In a recent round of layoffs, a woman worker at Google lost her job 10 weeks after giving birth to her baby. In a LinkedIn post, she said that she was ‘heartbroken and devastated’ after hearing the layoff news. 

The woman said that the layoff impacted her while she was on maternity leave. She revealed that she was fired while being on leave with a-10-week-old baby.

Google also fired employees in its Waze mapping app department. The layoffs affected the families of the workers as they were unable to maintain their lifestyle. They also find it difficult to find new jobs. 

Tech layoffs

In recent months, tech layoffs have affected various families. Earlier this year, major tech companies such as Meta, Google, X, Microsoft and Amazon laid off thousands of employees. Tech companies in the United States laid off more than 12,000 workers. In January, some tech companies laid off more than 28,000 workers.
