Myanmar’s BGF to Remove 10,000 Cyber Fraud Workers

Under its campaign against illegal activity the Myanmar ethnic militia prepares to send 10,000 people linked to cyber fraud back to Thailand. The Karen Border Guard Force declared it would eliminate all online fraud activities from its controlled areas.

BGF spokesman Major Naing Maung Zaw He stated that the removal of fraud suspects had been arranged through daily groups of 500 people. The first group of 61 people left for Thailand while Thai authorities have been notified of follow-up operations.

Through its borderlands of Myanmar the cyber scam industry now exploits forced foreign workers who generate many billions in fraudulent money. The military force of Burma Guardian Force observes several areas in Shwe Kokko where Myanmar’s eastern town of Myawaddy houses Internet fraud operations. Soldiers were positioned across the area on Friday to remove people running human trafficking and cyber fraud schemes illegally.

According to Thai media authorities in Tak province are set to welcome arrivals of 7,000 scam employees. The Thai authorities returned ten Chinese citizens who took part in the high-profile kidnapping of an actor working at the Myawaddy scam center. The authorities transferred 250 captured international fraudsters to Thailand from an online fraud building in Kyauk Khet.

BGF Major General Saw Chit Thu explains that his team captures both human traffickers and fraudsters to stop their illegal activities. The authorities have taken major steps to stop fraud groups that operate in multiple countries across Asia.
