Musk’s DOGE Replaces Fired Federal Workers with AI App They Created

Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency uses AI technology to help surviving GSA employees with their work following job cuts that affected over 1,000 personnel.

The GSAi project made the 18F office staff become redundant members of the agency. The chatbot supports users in email creation, presents talking points ready for use, simplifies text content and produces computer code. Nevertheless the platform experienced restrictions due to security issues making the device perform almost like an entry-level worker.

The government workforce reduction happens at a time when job losses in private businesses are becoming critical. Workplace consultancy Challenger, Gray & Christmas discovered U.S. businesses cut 172,000 jobs from their workforce in February when they reduced staff by 245% more than in January.

DOGE has been downsizing its federal workforce by canceling many contracts with private companies while pursuing an additional 200,000 job cuts and experts predict it could trigger adverse economic consequences. According to Challenger senior vice president Andrew Challenger job cuts surged in February due to Department of Government actions.
