What’s the Average Microsoft Worker Paid?
According to SEC filings submitted in December, the typical Microsoft mid-level employee received $193,744 for fiscal 2024. That’s just under $200,000 competitive but a little less than peers at Meta and Google.
For perspective:
- Google software engineers earn $109,180 – $340,000.
- Meta engineers can earn $120,000 – $480,000.
What About Microsoft’s CEO?
- Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella earned $79.1 million total pay for the 2024 fiscal year which is 408x the median employee compensation. Most of the pay was stock.
- Sundar Pichai is cited as a contrast at Google. Google filings indicate Sundar Pichai earned $10.7 million, or 32x the median employee compensation of $331,894.
