Mass Layoffs to take place at the Manufacturing Facility of Northeast Illinois

One of the leading companies, Elkay Plumbing Products who is known for manufacturing faucets, bottle filling stations, drinking foundations and foodservice products., have announced a shocking layoff notification via the social media post. It states that due to the ‘Plant Closure’ the 135 workers in that plant will lose their jobs and it will be effective from 25 April 2025. But more specific reasons behind this mass layoff haven’t been revealed officially by the company. 

This company is located at 6400 Penn Avenue, Savanna, Illinois, though they have their branches at other locations the shift of the workers who are fired here is not yet confirmed by them yet. To aid the hopeless employers during their toughest time, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity have planned to offer resources and support services for them which includes placement assistance, retraining programs and the unemployment benefits.
