The Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) has officially launched MyLabourHub, an AI-enabled platform that will integrate different labour market data sources such as various surveys, government sources and job portals. The purpose of MyLabourHub aims to provide a snapshot of the workforce in Malaysia to assist evidence-based decisions for policymakers, businesses and learning/training institutions.
MyLabourHub is a useful tool for addressing the common problem of job skill mismatches in the world of work. The platform offers dynamic monitoring of job patterns, compensation data and competency gaps. MyLabourHub was built with two main modules: an interactive module that visualises data as charts, maps and tables and a publications module with access to reports, labour market studies and classification standards, for example, the Malaysia Standard Classification of Occupations.
Kayra-GPT is a standout feature of MyLabourHub. This artificial intelligence tool developed by DOSM helps users efficiently navigate the platform. The portal contains over 100 key indicators across eight areas, including labour supply and demand, productivity, graduates, the informal sector, labour costs, micro, small and medium enterprises and sustainable development goals.
Chief Statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin said, “MyLabourHub is an important milestone for Malaysia to advance its position in the global open data movement and for improving the planning of the national workforce. Stakeholders will have access to up-to-date labour market information from over 40 ministries and agencies to assist in planning, especially as economic conditions change and in developing and delivering effective employment policies.”
