EY Report: Generative AI to Reshape 38 Million Indian Jobs by 2030

Through the use of generative AI technology, EY India’s ground-breaking report shows how this technology may redefine 38 million jobs in India by 2030 and contribute a 2.6% boost to the country’s productivity. The explored research shows that 24 percent of activities can be automated completely, and 42 percent of all enterprises’ tasks can be improved with the help of AI, liberating knowledge employees for 8-10 hours per week.

As per the head of EY India, Rajiv Memani, it is high time that attention is paid to the management of talent, and talent development. But, interestingly, only 3% of Indian enterprises are well endowed with the right skill sets to manage AI talent within their companies, the report reveals. Such an expectation is because the services sector is projected to feel the impact most in productivity gains, and the positive impacts of AI on manufacturing and construction sectors might be relatively low.

According to Technology Consulting Leader Mahesh Makhija industries such as financial services, healthcare, and retail will go through a change of basic operational processes plus sectors such as IT ITES BPO. The report also talks about the lack of ability to quantify the value of GenAI in production, as only 184 of the 15% of Indian enterprises that use GenAI workloads in production can accurately measure and allocate the costs.
