As of July 11, 2025 qualifying Canadians will receive additional Canada Workers Benefit (CWB) payments to relieve the costs of rising living expenses. This contribution offers relief whether you are single, have dependants or have a disability with quarterly payments providing crucial support according to your 2024 income and taxes.
What Is the Canada Workers Benefit (CWB)?
The CWB is a refundable tax credit for working Canadians with modest earnings. The CWB has a basic amount and a disability supplement that will have increased maximum payments in 2025.
How Much Will You Receive?
- Single Workers: Up to $1,633
- Families: Up to $2,813
- Disability Supplement: An extra $843
The exact amounts depend on your earnings and tax return in 2024. If you received ACWB in 2024, you will continue to receive payments in 2025 as automatic payments.
What Are the 2025 ACWB Payment Dates?
- July 11, 2025
- October 10, 2025
- January 9, 2026
If a date falls on a weekend or holiday, the deposit is paid the business day before.
Who Is Eligible for the CWB?
- The first requirement is that you must reside in Canada for the whole of 2024 tax year.
- You must be at least 19 years old by December 31, 2024 or live with either a spouse, common law partner or dependents.
- You must have earned a minimum of $3,000 in working income in 2024.
- Your adjusted net income must be within the following limits:
Individuals: Less than $26,85
Families: Less than $30,639
