Best and most practical ways to achieve work-life balance

As today’s work culture has predominantly shifted towards “working from home” amid pandemic crisis, the essence of gaining work and life balance has gained more importance. With hectic schedule, trying endlessly to squeeze everything within 24 hours while striking a balance between work and personal life seems a far-fetched reality now – more so as the thin demarcation between office hours and home life has become ever so hazy.

With no working hours limit, the encroaching work stuff into personal time can be both stressful and demanding. So how to set that boundary and how to effectively balance the life as we are stuck at one physical location for an unforeseen amount of time.

“Balance is not better time management, but better boundary management. Balance means making choices and enjoying these choices”,

Betsy Jacobson, a famous author and actor points out.

So how to prioritize things according to your choice and routine? Some easy and practical ways to help balancing the life are:

Take a break in between work

Taking some time off in between work helps a great deal in handling stress and anxiety. Long working hours are torturing for human body both physically and mentally. Regular breaks help to bounce back with more focus. This can make the work duration shorter as focus increases. Mental exhaustion when relieved helps to focus and increase productivity.

Plan the day

Planning the day ahead of time is a great way to kick off towards balanced and structured day. When you are aware of work and personal things in ‘to-do’ list, it is easy to manage time accordingly, as per priorities. A well laid plan also helps to manage recreational and family activities which are absolutely necessary for rewinding after a hard day’s work.

Healthy Lifestyle – an absolute necessity

Healthy lifestyle contributes to physical as well as mental health, which are absolutely necessary for focusing on work and personal life with equal robustness. Healthy mind keeps you focused, stress-free and energetic – helping one excel in career and life equally. This balance is what keeps one going with catchy enthusiasm.

Time Management

This is a crucial aspect of work-life balance which can’t be neglected. Logging in for work at set time lets you get along with the tasks head-on. Punctuality also speaks a lot of one’s dedication and character. Similarly, setting a time for work day end is important to keep you in sync with your personal and family life. Following such practical but handy tips lets you become more mindful of your life’s balance and priorities on a daily basis. A structured and balance day is the essence of stress-free life with more enthusiasm to get ready for the next day.
