
The worldwide leader, Ashok Krish, at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), predicts that Artificial Intelligence functions as an influential transformational tool that generates fresh employment prospects instead of destroying existing jobs.
During his interview with PTI, Krish asserted that organizations should treat AI as a driver to develop new competencies instead of a workforce elimination machine. According to Ashok Krish, AI stands as the biggest technological revolution of the past ten years, but may very well be the biggest transformation humans have experienced.
The approach of considering job losses through this perspective remains incorrect to me. Organizations need cultural transformation at every level to achieve successful AI implementation as Krish explained in his statement.
The implementation of new technologies results in initial fear, which eventually leads to new possibilities, according to Krish. He explained that AI appears in a similar pattern throughout technological development, starting with mainframes and progressing to the internet before reaching cloud computing status. The way AI functions displays a distinct quality through self-reinforcing behavior since “progress in AI exponentially improves progress in AI,” according to him.
The adoption process of AI across businesses grew substantially with a major transformation during the last 18 months, leading to its pivotal status in executive decision-making. Krish emphasized that AI does not limit itself to performance optimization because it now drives agentic automation throughout all TCS services.
Numerous sectors, including banking, financial services, insurance, healthcare, and life sciences, have already implemented AI programs that deliver transformative results through drug discovery applications, yet high-technology and manufacturing sectors are quickly following behind.
Based on his predictions, Krish believes that workforce transformation will occur due to AI, which will lead projects from needing 100 people down to just 50 employees as roles shift in character, therefore enabling additional project work that starts new service offerings.
Krish believes that AI together with humanoid robots will spark “massive change in society and companies at large” which will establish access to knowledge and skills for everyone.
