US Border Crisis

The economic crisis, political instability, lengthy process of visa, human trafficking, smuggling, social factors, violence, and natural disasters are the most common reasons for the US border crisis. It is reported that in 2021, the record of illegal immigrants who entered by breaching the border policy of the US is 1.66 million. It is the highest number recorded since the 1960s. Though the government of Joe Biden implemented policies to restrict the entry of illegal immigrants by increasing personnel and technology at the border, experts say these measures are only a temporary panacea. The US encountered the repeated entry of illegal immigrants who did undocumented migration in high-level during the Covid-19 pandemic era.

From the data released in 2022, by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Pew Research Center, it says that 2.76 million illegal immigrants crossed the US border several times and most of the immigrants are caught for undocumented migration.

Paid $12,000 to cross the US border

On September 20, Texas state troopers caught a group of 36 illegal migrants at the border town of Normandy for undocumented migration. The 36 illegal immigrants were called as “Special Interest”, among the group a Turkish immigrant said that they paid $12,000 to cross the US border illegally to meet their sponsor in New Jersey. Texas troopers arrested them based on suspicion and threat to the policies & national security of the US border. “In the last 48 hours, DPS (Department of Public Safety) Troopers have come across 8 special interest immigrants from 5 different countries in the rural Normandy area” posted in X by DPS Lt. Chris Oliverez.
