Swiggy and the Labor Ministry join hands to create 1.2 million jobs in India

India signs MOU with major food delivery service Swiggy to boost employment opportunities in about one million two hundred thousand jobs over two-three years through the Ndsc portal.

Union Labour and Environment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that the NCS portal is indeed made for job seekers and employers to go to a single outlet. Stations where an employer can find select manpower needs without outside advertisement, with the help of data from over 310 million persons registered on the Shram portal for all those people. This collaboration is expected to simplify the process of hiring through the job matching process in India.

“We are very enthusiastic as this would add fuel to the million wings work Swiggy has created during the past decade. This partnership will link Swiggy to more skilled recruits, scale its hiring capacity, and increase employment generation throughout the country,” Swiggy operations head Salbh Srivastava said.

This initiative strongly reflects the spirit behind the government’s move to foster public-private partnerships that will make inroads into the labor market and create an opportunity for dignified employment for millions.
