Ahead of Raksha Bandhan 2025 the Rajasthan government has made a heartwarming announcement for the more than 1.25 lakh Anganwadi workers and helpers throughout the state. Each beneficiary will receive ₹501 directly in their bank accounts as a one time gift symbolizing their service in the area of child and women’s welfare.
Moreover, the state is providing free transit on Rajasthan Roadways buses for these workers, adding flexibility to their festive celebrations. The free bus facility will be provided for two days to help thousands of workers travel without spending anything during their Rakhi celebration.
As a part of Suraksha Samman Parv, ‘Anganwadi Bahan Samman Diwas’ will be celebrated on 5 August. The state level event will be held at Birla Auditorium in Jaipur, organized by the Women and Child Development Department. It is to respect their contribution, each Anganwadi worker and helper will also get an umbrella in the event.
Preparations for both state and district level celebrations are now being initiated. The department has sent a letter to all District Collectors asking them to manage the local celebration activities. Each district level celebration is expected to have around 600 Anganwadi workers and helpers present for the local celebration, where a live telecast of the Jaipur programme will also be shown.
This thoughtful initiative demonstrates again the willingness of the state government to recognise frontline workers who contribute to the wellbeing of rural communities in Rajasthan.
