Delta Star to Boost Virginia Economy with $35M Manufacturing Expansion

Delta Star Inc. said it will grow its business in Lynchburg by $35 million which will create 300 new jobs during the next four years. Mr. Jason Greene says Delta Star needs the extra resources to boost manufacturing power and develop better energy technologies that meet worldwide demand.

Greene stated that the expansion project helps solve worldwide energy demand by providing sustainable and dependable solutions. “Our company plans to improve its energy sector technologies as business needs evolve.”

Since 2023, the company has increased its investments in Lynchburg two times which led to the creation of 149 jobs. Even though the company hired more staff than its previous target of 149 positions they still carried out their expansion plans of adding 108,000 square feet.

Delta Star plans to expand its existing Lynchburg facilities from 308,000 to 388,000 square feet through a recent development project. The project will start its construction phase in the fall of 2023 and should finish operations by 2026.

Out of the 300 new positions Delta Star creates the majority will focus on producing products alongside opportunities in engineering and business related work. The Lynchburg division of Delta Star operates with 434 staff members and has more than 1,200 workers throughout its business locations.

Delta Star launched its Chicago business in 1908 and set up production in Lynchburg in 1962 before transferring its corporate office to this location. Company facilities are present throughout both Quebec and California.Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin allowed $2.3 million state funding to help the growth plans after all parties involved including the city, Virginia Economic Development Partnership, and Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance teamed up successfully.
