Over 100 ground staff of London’s Gatwick Airport who were employed by the Red Handling have decided to involve themselves in the strike from 17 April to 22 April 2025 which is provoking a major disruption during this pivotal Easter weekend. The ground staff including baggage handlers, safety service, flight dispatchers, airport operations, airline station agent and others are protesting over the unresolved pension disputes. The unforeseen strike of the airline staffs has derailed many actions that involves around 50 flights daily, with passengers facing cancellations, delays and baggage mishandling.

People are expecting the airlines to pay compensation, and they are required to offer them refunds, support, rebooking, meals and accommodation. But the travelers are instructed to stay updated regarding their flight status, maintain direct communication with airlines and preserve receipts for incurred expenses.

The strike is growing the wave of industrial actions which has been affecting travel to the regions of Europe in 2025.
