Advance Auto Parts Exits California Market, Cutting 1,600 Jobs

In mid-March, Advance Auto Parts is closing its retail California operations and reached the last day of the Cathedral City store’s service. By leaving California Advance Auto Parts reduces its workforce by 1600 staff members and closes its 137 California outlets.

The California closures form a main part of Advance Auto Parts’ nationwide store closures which total up to 725 locations. The company’s major changes aim to gather resources into profitable markets and match how car part buyers now interact with the business.

A company representative announced that staffers impacted by the store closures will get job-ending pay plus career transition services. The automotive parts retailer must improve its functions and decrease expenses to survive hard business settings.

Experts say stores closed by the company show both internal issues and external market difficulties, especially in retail business sectors across specific areas.
