Indian IT giant Infosys defers annual salary increments to Q4FY25
Indian Information Technology giant Infosys has postponed its annual salary hikes to the fourth quarter of the current financial year (Q4FY25), according to Moneycontrol. This delay signals broader challenges in the global demand ecosystem.
Infosys last implemented salary increments in 2023. The ongoing macroeconomic uncertainty has compelled many IT companies to address subdued discretionary spending, delayed client budgets and rising cost pressures.
Infosys is not the only IT giant in India adopting such measures. Competitors such as HCLTech and LTIMindtree also skipped salary hikes in recent times in order to reduce expenses and maintain profitability, according to media reports.
Nonetheless, the delayed salary increments in the IT sector are unlikely to trigger significant attrition. It is because in the current economic climate, retaining their positions in companies is seen as a bonus for many employees.
